I had to get a new (well new to me) Jeep and sell off the Defender. Sad to put the Defender up for sale but my love for jeeps (this one is my forth) cushions it some. So this was the first fishing trip in the new jeep. I really like that I can keep the rod strung up and keep it inside the vehicle moving from spot to spot.

I bounced around from spot to spot on this little freestone. We have had a lot of rain over the last couple weeks and the stream was out of it's banks on Thursday . It was still high this past weekend but in ok shape. I got a few trout here and there but not a ton, I was fishing a parachute adams with a PT dropper and getting them on each fly at about the same rate. I went up against a pretty smart little wild rain bow at the end of the day. He came up fast and missed the adams. I drifted it again and he took a look but didn't hit. I switched to a brown EHC, he come up but didn't take. Then to a BWO, barely even looked at it. Tried a Yellow Sally next and he blew up on it. Crazy little 7 inch rainbow. Smart little bugger for sure. I wanted to end on a high note so he was the last cast of the day and I headed back to the cottage.

After dinner I had a good fire and wanted to take a few pictures just relaxing and poking the logs...but at a certain point (fifth or sixth bourbon I'd say) the god of fire came at me. I had to fend him off with the iron blow poke!

Nice trip and good on the new ride. Having trouble getting fish to hit your dry ??????????????? You are a prime candidate for a Lime/Dun EHC or a Thunderhead. At the good friend streamside price of $14 :o

Seriously........ Once I started fishing a Thunderhead , I gave away every Adams that I owned. Damn Truth !!!!!!!
