I was up in the Shenandoah, last week, on the headwaters of the Rapidan. Man was it low! All the trout were huddled up in bath tub sized pools, with the runs between to shallow for them to traverse. The water was cold enough, so there's no heat stress, but bunched up like that, they are easy prey for predators.

I couldn't bring myself to fish, under those conditions, but I saw a lot of fair sized trout. We sure could use a Cat 1 hurricane.....

Agree on the hurricane. When it gets that low , all sort of non-natural predators come to the feast - Coons, coyotes ,house dogs, bears ,owls ,bob cats ,etc, etc

Pray for rain !

Agreed with both of ya. I'm not fishing any right now. My beloved little brookie streams are too low, and the fish don't need me hauling 'em out of the little pools. They're easy prey right now. We need rain bad.
