If nobody else will post a trout report here anymore -- I will.
Since Spring PFF was cancelled, I needed to get out for some outdoor therapy. Hit the road in two cars with cowboy turned farmer/currently-unemployed guide Jesse, parked at the trailhead, and didn't go far before we saw the stream was clear but rolling at about a foot and a half above normal. It made for a tough day of dredging nymph tandems, but we did pretty well. Caught a lot of fish that didn't get on film, but it was a good day.

Nice! Glad y'all got out to play with the fish.

I spent Tuesday through Thursday fishing the delayed harvest section of the Tuckasegee and Nantahala with enough fish caught to make for a successful trip. As much fun as I had it was a poor substitute for the camaraderie of PFF. Miss y'all and look forward to next year.

Looks like Yawl had to use the "mo lead" method

JT, it was a stocker brookie that had been in there for at least a year, Jesse said when I caught it. Then I caught another in the same hole. It was well over a mile above where the stocking ends. Go figure. :)

thx Phil, glad you "tightened up the line". We've had a "fishing explosion" down here. Never seen so many boats on the roads & every boat ramp is full. It really is unbelieveable. We even have "social distancing while boating" posters! Really missed Shady this time...

I'll wager it doesn't look so good now after those 4 days of rain! It was already about 1 1/2 feet higher than normal.
