Went fishing on lower Stoney today.. Checked out a good hole while not in waders. Fish rising like hell. How fast can you get waders on ????
Having no clue what was hatching, I tied on a Thunderhead and threw it about 10 times with fish rising all around it. No Bite.
Picked up a couple bugs off the water and they were Blue Quills and BWO's

Tied on a BWO dry and it was perverted for the next 20 minutes until I finally put them down with hooked fish.

I had a stretch with 14 consecutive bites..... Crazy

Caught a few others in known BWO areas ,but not like the first spot.
Luck is a wonderful thing . Sometimes,ya just stumble on to them.
Of course, it is probably due to my clean living

Make sure I understand this, JT...I can't get up to the mountains to fish for 3 months due to snow and ice and you stroll out to some creek and experience a winter hatch. Man, that's living proof the Great Fly Fishing Spirit has a sense of humor.

And you talk about clean living? Have you seen me since I shaved my head, wear sack cloth, and attend vespers?
