Fished with a good buddy Monday night til 2 AM on the SoHo. Figured with the sluicing the going would be a little easier with no dragging the boat. We fished from River's Way down to Jack's (for those of you who know the area). We stubbornly fished mouse patterns with no takes for the first two hours. The water was still moving a bit too fast for mice I reckon, so we switched to a white streamer once we got below the bridge. We immediately had takes and brought a good number of healthy fish to the boat before the take out. Dead drifting was the key. My buddy had one on for 10-15 seconds that was putting a serious bend in the 8 wt, taking line at-will until he somehow threw the fly. Fun night out with some new lessons learned. Who woulda thunbk a white streamer at night? -Knox
