I headed back to Bassett Saturday for an afternoon of fishing. I had decided to fish a different spot further downstream from my ususal haunts. I started out by throwing beetles ( surprise). I caught 5 in a hour or so before I went exploring. I had decided to fish a spot Ralph had carried me to a few years ago the first time I met him. I sort of screwed up and popped out two pools below where I was supposed to be. The water was pretty though, and I caught some fish right off the bat. I did not catch a ton, but there were a couple of decent ones mixed with the normal squirts. At a little after six I decided it was time to go find some sulphers. I hopped in the car and headed upstream to my sulpher spot. I had a fly I was trying out and I still had not tried it in the middle of a hatch. When I got there there was little activity except for a sulpher every ten minutes or so. I caught fish for a few minutes whenever I saw one move. I figured I was going to have a ball if the bugs would ever open up. About the time I figured the bugs were going to let loose I heard a rumble. I looked up and there was a serious cloud across the road from me. I am too tough to let a little thunder run me off. It rumbled a lot closer and I was at the car taking my waders off. ;D I did not eat their lunches or anything, but I had fun.

The last two are small but I wanted proof that a certain person's fly works! I don't want to be fired from my lucrative field testing job. On the way home right past the Citgo a fairly small bear ran across the road in front of me. Not a bad ending for a pretty good day.
