Went out last night from 10-3 AM on the SoHo. Bite was great whenever the resident beavers weren't scaring the panties off me. Those things will make your head spin. Had some serious tugs, some toilets flushed, but mostly just brought a bunch of 12"-15"ers to hand. Fly of the night was dshort's EP sculpin pattern. Dan, that fly was money last night. I tied it on first thing and never cut it off. I did catch one big female towards the end of the night. She took some effort and I had to trespass on some private property to land her after she took me into some brush. Sorry for the bad pics. It's hard when you're all alone and the flash keeps reflecting off the fog. -Knox

Awesome. I haven't had a chance to test that fly yet. Any problems with the fly spinning or twisting on retrieval? I was worried about that with the fins coming off the side but tried to tie them thin enough that they would just collapse back along the body and then flare out again when the fly stopped. Did it sink well enough or did you need to use some extra weight?

As it was dark out when I threw the fly I can't say whether or not it spun on the retrieve. I will say that my 0X tippet never twisted. The fly got down upon hitting the water, but I was using a moderate sinking line. I'll throw it next time I float at high water.
