I went back to the Smith yesterday for the first time in several weeks. I started way upstream and caught 4 in just a few minutes. I heard some wood ducks squealing and a few minutes later a flock flew over my head. Shortly after that I heard laughing and a boat floats by. 30 minutes later I started seeing fish again. I ended up with about a dozen out of that spot. I hopped back in the car and headed downstream to Wooly's and Bugman's spot. I don't normally mess with that spot because of the crowds, but I am glad I stopped. There wasn't but one car in the parking lot. I fished for about 2 hours and caught around another dozen. I left around 8 and arrived home around midnight. Not a bad day.

Glad ya got em Ben. Last time I went I noticed the leaves are starting to fall in the water. I may hit it a time or two more but my fancy if now turning to deer hunting. Got my xbows all tuned up and hitting where they are looking so now all I need is for the magic date to arrive.

Heading to the Last Frontier (Alaska) on Wed - hope to time the silver run right. Right now the chums and pinks are strong and everyone is complaining about slow appearance of silvers - hopefully they are a little late like they were last year. Personally I like to fish for chums - they are the "pit bulls" of the salmon clan. Not as good eating but easy to entice to a fly and they sure put a bend in your rod.
