No clue what this is. Looks like a cocoon of some sort?

On Sunday, we made trip to see family in Hartsville. I think this is properly identified as Hartsville-B1 reactor (cancelled in 1982):

Interesting article on history of TVA nuclear program: http://ansnuclearcafe.org/2015/04/17/tva-prepares-to-write-final-nuclear-chapters/#sthash.FTL2EOVQ.dpbs

Got back to stomping grounds and descended to creek around 7:30 p.m.:

Pretty good stuff and nice pictures.
You can tell that it is getting warm when you start catching bluegill up in trout water :o
Did that reactor ever produce electricity ??

Nah from what I was able to gather it was shut down at 17% completion. Unbelievable all the money spent on cancelled nuclear program. Maybe someday the learning curve will complete and it won't be all for naught. Or better yet, maybe we'll all live off the grid one day for good!
