And of course,it rained like hell a little while after that and the creek is Mad Dog open now ,but it felt good to get a few rises----The Bait was a #14 Thunderhead

John, good to see you're healing.
Glad to see you caught some.
How much did the flooding change some of the runs?

Thanks Don
It is a little hard to tell about the runs right now because the water is still high , but one of my favorite runs is now a gravel bar. I did not fish much of the creek , but will advise once I get back in the creek. Today would be a good day ,but my Tahoe is in the shop (brakes, drums, etc).
The water is falling a little and will be good if it will quit raining.
The Watauga is mad dog open and if it gets another 3-4 inches higher,it will be in the houses at Hunter bridge. The campground on Smalling road was flooded about 2 weeks ago (up in the cabins. Of course, the Doe at Roan Mtn flooded to beat hell and that is what put the water in the cabins.

Croaker,
I looked at a little more of the creek this morning and there have been some big changes due to the flood. One of my good spots at Blue Springs is totally gone ,but upstream about 100 yards there is a hole cut out right against the bank that looks to be at least 3 feet deep, and b/4 the flood it was about 4 inches there. One of Streamer's favorite soft hackle runs on Creek Bank Rd. is totally gone ,but most of the runs on Creek Bank Rd. are unchanged.
