I want to try the new kayaks this weekend and Zaloos dont open until the first weekend of april which I am working. Once april hits it might be a while before I can go. Im looking for anyone going out in the new river so we can do our own shuttle. I probably wont be fishing as the girlfriend dont fish and I want to keep an eye on her. It dont have to be a long float as I dont want her to be too worn out and loose interest.
As far as the shuttle it will be better if there are at least 2 more vehicle because since we wont be fishing we might get to the take out hours ahead of the fisherman.
Anyway, anyone up to it? Let me know...

Easter egg hunt this weekend. No way I'll get to go fishing. Good luck, though.

That stretch near Little Egypt makes a good short float. You might also consider the float from the confluence down to Deacon road. That take out is almost hidden, but it's just past the bridge over the feeder stream just upstream from Zaloo's outpost. It's only about a mile, but with lots of flat water, it's pretty nice paddling. You could probably paddle back upstream to the confluence without too much trouble.

Another place to consider is right at the 220 bridge. Again, it's fairly flat, and you can paddle back to the put in without too much difficulty. No need for a shuttle, or so I am told.

Thanks for the info Paul. I will check it out. I was thinking more on a going with the flow type of float trip but we might end up duing the upstream part first then just float back.
Thanks!
