I went out this morning before 8 Am and it was already hot and humid...sweatin' without doing anything...it sucks! I threw a popper to no avail....tried a Dr. death and caught two nice gills and lost a couple of bass.....finally lost the fly on a real nice bass that immediately wrapped me around something.

I figured subsurface was about my only shot at catching much so I got a spinning rod out and tied on a big 3" white curly tail grub...got some good bites right away...including a really chunky crappie that came off boatside. A couple of 2 lb. bass and some nice bluegill but overall the bite slowed pretty quickly....and it was just too hot to stay out any longer...I think I may be done fishing till it cools down a good bit.

The pond is really low and gettin more grass and lilys popping up...we need rain bad...or there may be no romp in the swamp :(

Tom glad to see that you were able to get out once again. I'll have to agrre with you on how hot it has been. It makes me not want to go out and fish at all. Nice fish by the way. I hope we het a good bit of rain so the pond is in fisheable condition for romp in the swamp part 2!!!
