Me and mudpuppy hit the New this morning...dirty water at the confluence and Kings Creek. Decided to cut our losses and head back over the hill, took 16 back and whadya know, clear water at Zaloos on the South Fork. Went about 5 miles upstream to the next launch and hit the river. It was a pretty decent day, lots of smallies, largest about 13...but tons of redeye or whatever ya wanna call em. I probally caught at least 30 redeye, there was one stretch I caught 7 on 7 casts. Fun day...took one pic of a redeye for JT.

You'll have the boat to get there.

Kim...glad you guys had a good day after all. (I got lots of work done on the deck and the wife was very pleased!!!!). We had 3 more heavy showers on Sun. pm. Monday, I headed over to the S. Fork about 10am, upstream of Zaloos, and slid the canoe in where they are doing road construction and started working my way upstream. Water was a little dingy but still 2.5-3.5 feet of vis. Picked up occassional fish subsurface and topwater. But, about 12.45...topwater tuned on for about an hour...a good mix of smallies and redeyes. I floated back down and took out about 2:30.

I drove back to Kings Creek the long way, checking various spots along the S. Fork. It got muddier as I moved downstream and at Kings Creek was again unfishable. Terry said it had started to clear late Sun but they got more rain on Sun. night.

On Monday pm, the North Fork was more clear than the S. Fork and probably would not have been too bad to fish.
