Wanted to head up to the Holston to catch some big smallies but could not find anyone to make the trip. So on Monday I headed up to float the Broad River not far from home. This is a section that I can fish without doing a shuttle. Started out with a Sneaky Pete but had to stop casting it. The little bream were pestering the heck out of it. Ended up catching a bunch of smallies but nothing big. The TeQueely Streamer and the Clouser Minnow were the ticket. The water was off color and still a little high. Visibility was bout a foot. Beautiful day. Saw 5 or 6 Bald Eagles.

I called the office on thurs.or fri. and he said you were out till Tues. and your cell went straight for voicemail....I figured you had headed up north. The Broad muddies up a little too easy....but thats a nice whitey! Hoping to try it up by I-85 this summer and do an overnighter.

Let me know next time you wanna fish the Holston for smallies. I've been fishing it a ton and it is on fire! We can take my raft, or if you come up with friends you can just borrow it for the day. -Knox
