Yesterday I received an unexpected but welcome phone call from Waynesville. Roger Lowe called to let me know that he is back in the guide business. His reputation as a guide, fly shop owner and fly tyer is widely well known. He has done much to promote, educate and enhance the sport. His book of traditional Smokey Mountain fly patterns is a classic.

My wife and I will be floating with Roger on the Tuck this spring. She is excited. I didn't even have to sell it to her by saying: "Honey, it's all about you." ;)

hey man that's great news ....much better then over on the other forum where they had him "passed away" and was making it easy to download his book rather then buy it.Roger is a good one and the fly fishing community is better because of his many abilities.

Yep.
Out of the car business and back in the business he was born and bred to do.
He said that so many people were calling, wanting his services and his flies that he just couldn't turn his back to it anymore. The fly fishing community will be the beneficiary of his talents. He is one of the great ones.

Is Roger going to re-open a shop or is he going to sell his bugs out of his house.

Talked to Roger today. He has no immediate plans to open a retail shop, but he will have flies and other equipment available by phone.

The wifely unit and I are booked for this Saturday. Where we go will depend on generation schedules. I will let you guys know how the "It's all about you honey" trip goes. And it really is all about her.
