I joined a bunch of yakkers Saturday on a swamp muskie (bowfin) expedition into the wiles of creek/swamp in west craven county, off the Neuse. I was bream fishing. We fished about 6 hours, caught 3 small bream, in about 45 seconds, from a 3 foot area. Had 10 - 15 nudges or looks, but no more hits.

JT: on the way home, both of us from boat saw cows lying down. In fact, all cows we saw were lying down.

Here are a couple of the bowfin that one from the group took. Not flies this time, but later in the year, they catch them on the long rod.

Here is the yak fleet:

This is what the launch looked like (does that look fishy, or what):

I know I am getting closer. Maybe some fish next time.

Sure looked good

For any of you on NC angler (I know some of you are), here is link to the entire post.

I need me a 'yak. The old canoe is just too clumsy for this old man to carry anymore. Glad to see you are getting some time on the water.
