I got home the other day with a buttload of chores to do around the homestead.....but I did manage to sneak out on the pond for a hour or so last night....its lookin much better after spraying the lily pads...they were taking over! there are still some minor patches of the half dollar sized lilies....but they are'nt nearly as abundant or annoying as the big ones.....I hope to get them before too long.

Anyway....in the hour or so I managed a few smaller ones like this.....

and landed two healthy pigs.....this one was an easy 6 pds

this one was maybe a touch over 7 .....

I was gonna try to get out some more....maybe even hit the river....but there are some pretty heavy thunder storms passing thru ....so its looking doubtful.

It really is looking much better....and I think I lucked into a good deal on a harrow drag....although I have to get up at 5 AM and go after it :o .....but it'll be nice to have and to smooth out the ground around the camping area.

Oh...and I got some inside info on that property across from the put in at the Savannah....word is the woman that owns it is partial to fly fisherman and such and will let ya put in there for a small donation...I'm gonna try to stop in and talk to her next time I get a chance and find out what the fee is and what she would think of letting us camp there. Maybe if I lay the Overbrook charm on her?? :?

Good stuff Overbrook, if yer charm won't work see ifn she can be bribed with seafood...
I'd also like to see about that pasture above the I-20 bridge on the SC side. Might have to
ride up and knock on some doors one Sunday...

I'm guessing so....I saw a few beds...but did'nt seem to be occupied.....plus they were popping bugs on the surface all over which would make me believe they're off the nests.
