Side note... Still on the wagon....They say its O.K. to smoke the first week or two while taking the Chantix....so I averaged 2 or 3 smokes a day the first two weeks....into the third week and I have'nt had a puff in several days.....although the urges have seemed to have grown a bit....actually had my first bad night of sleep last night  I'ma gonna get through it though.....feeling much better as a non-smoker. :D

Good job Tom, keep it up. It takes a few months but the cravings get much more manageable and shorter.

Hang in. Call your friends. Call anybody to distract yourself.....

Thanks Ben! I'm doing surprisingly well .....I think the Chantix is gonna do it for me this time. Last try I had a lot of side affects ..sore throat, headaches, sleeplessness and especially crazy dreams.....this time I have had none  Honestly.....as a smoker it does no good to be told how bad it is for you or "think of the money you'll save!" .....you really have to want to quit....for your self....and it had finally come to a point I was just tired of being a smoker.

I wish your son the best of luck kicking it as well!

You got it. The other key is never think that you are strong enough to only have one. If you do, then you'll tell yourself later that you could probably have another because the first wasn't a problem. It is just like eating Lays potato chips: "You can't eat just one."

And you're right, there are some crazy dreams with that stuff. That stuff was original made to treat people in mental institutions and then they began noticing the crazies were all quitting smoking. Modern medicine.

Now that made me laugh  I'm having flashbacks of "one flew over the cookoo's nest"

Tom,

The greatest medical breakthroughs always seem to be an accident. Care to venture a guess about what medication came about when a bunch of heart patients started walking around with erections?

Not a problem. I know how lonely it can be sometimes on the road.

The heart med is Viagra. I hear that it is about $30 per pill now --- Damn

Tom
I quit chewing about 3-4 years ago and I immediately gained weight and my blood pressure went up. But --- I got rid of an annoying cough.
It took me at least 2 years to stop wanting a chew. Nicotine is one hellacious addictive drug fer sure

Buy the 100mg and split them. Saves a little I've been told.
