I have not had a chance to fish with my brother since maybe 2013 and before that god knows. It was nice to get out on the water and hammer some small largemouth and a few nice panfish and crappie. most of them took the popper... sure sign of summer.

Also I think I have solved the rod carrier for the Defender... couple bits of foam pipe insulation, black gorilla tape and 2 short bungies. Looks good for the summer we'll see how it goes when the steelies are running and snow is falling. Might need an in vehicle set up.

Thanks JT ... Crappie are slowly becoming my fav warm water fish. I didn't catch many up until last year and I love the aggressive take and hard fights. Smallie still have to be number 1 but crappie are coming on strong.

I have caught very few crappie in the last years. Had a chance this year with a buddy. we had crappie fished for 3-4 hours and only caught bass and bream. So he catches a crappie and on the next cast, I catch a crappie. B/4 I could get the boat turned around for another cast, the damn trolling motor broke  And we were done fishing.

You know that I am a bluegill and other bream nut.

You need to be throwing a bully for those bream. It will out fish a popper by a mile. I have caught thousands of bream on a Bluegill Bully.
If you don't know this bait, PM me your snail addy and I will send you some for the low, friendly stream side price of $14

Looks like a blast. That Flickr, is it better than photobucket? pb takes forever to upload, navigate, has a lot of pop-ups, etc. Maybe I need to be paying for a subscription of some sort...

Good to know. Photobucket sure is a mess now. I did post a pic on a different thread here from another free site I came across, http://www.imgur.com, just to see how it behaved. Seemed to do just fine.
