Tides are still low early and late, the worst tides to fish for winter reds. But, you go fishing when you can. I had two experienced anglers on the boat on Friday. We were into fish all day. They made multiple good presentations and fed the fly to he fish well, but reds can be fickle at times, and we didn't have any takers.

Saturday morning I had a nice yourn couple on the boat this morning. Jeremy had never been redfishing before and was itching to connect. We pushed through several low tide flate, and saw multiple schools of fish. Jeremy took his shot, and was tight to a nice red. His first, and it was on the fly. The fly, what else, the black toad.

If you go redfishing and don't have this fly, you are crazy. Recipe on the website.

If you can plan your winter time trip for reds, try to plan it when the low tides are in the middle of the day. The fish will be much more active as the water will be much warmer.
