If you haven't been to the coast this fall, it has been a good season so far, especially for false albacore. In fact the albie reports have probably been the best in several years particularly thru Oct...with a mix of hungry sharks thrown in to keep it exciting and make netting the fish a good idea, rather than tailing it by hand. Nov appears to be starting off pretty well also, except for a patch of weather this week that is causing small craft advisories to be posted. We had an excellent trip to Morehead/Cape Lookout a week ago...great weather (except for one morning of 3-5 foot seas at the inlet) and some excellent action on pods of bait ball busting albies.
Also reports of a good gray trout bite, and some excellent encounters with large drum, and a forecast for good spec trout fishing as temps continue to cool .
