Just got in from a long weekend at the OBX with a few friends.
Seems to be still a little early for the albies but we did have a few good shots with the fly rod. Wilke landed two on hardware but the albie action was spotty at best.
We had weather that ranged from windless, sunny and warm to wet and blowing. Shoulda brought a kidney belt for the wet and blowing part!
Press 2 for Spanish mackeral were all over the place as were small blues. Bait was a-bustin' but spotty and up and down.
All in all, between the two boats we managed to land some fish, burn a lot of gas and break a GLX classic 9 weight... dammit!

I though you'd been awfully quiet these past few days....

As they say, a bad day of fishing beats a good day at work any day. Better luck next time.

Who? Me?
I was just using it... honest!
I wish I could say something like it was on a shark I accidentally hooked but NOOOoo...
Stringing it up. No knot or connection of any kind in the line... it prolly got weakened after socking it with a clouser or a deck or something.
I hope Loomis does me right but I'm sure they don't make those old-fashioned 9 weight glitter-free GLX's anymore.
