Picked up a few copies of Jim Casda's new book "Fly Fishing in the Great Smoky Mtns Nat. Park: An Insiders Guide to a Pursuit of Passion," and have been reading portions. Very impressive and, I think, would really appeal to folks that are drawn to the park and its fishing and hiking. In addition to lots of detailed info on the streams and access, campsites and fishing, there's a lot of good story telling and interesting history of the park. Also some good additional info for folks that want to really get off the beaten path..."back of beyond." Book also has a nice collection of old photos from pre-park day; a great bibliograpy on related publications, and an updated/modified map of the park that lists many of the potentially difficult stream crossing for fishermen and hikers. Excellent reference and resource for foks going into the Smokies.
