Well I ain't been on here in a while so I figured I'd jump on and give a report about the SoHo last Thursday- me and a friend did alright, the water was up (even when the sluice was off) fished a spot off Big Springs rd that normally produces, with all the rain it seemed 6" or so above usual, neither of us caught much. We decided to move up right and hit another favorite spot, fish were rising and we managed to get into a few on nymphs. As the day got on fish kept rising and proposing like crazy. There were some real dark BWO's and tried dries with little success. In the end we did alright each getting around 10 fish (nothing real big to hand). I lost a damn nice fish after he got the lead fly (he hit the dropper) hung up.... ugh.

Got three fish in three casts on my new fly- the Beady Little Bastard. Its as simple a tie as there is- 6 size 1/16 black nickel beads on a size 20 TMC 200R hook, put a thread bump past the last bead with a drop of head cement) to hold them all on the hook. Makes a nice segmented body and really sinks, makes a good lead fly for a double nymph rig.

Dull hooks are like dull people-they're worthless on a fishing trip.
