Hey everyone. Quick question: Do any of you experience eye discomfort after you've used Frog's Fanny? My left eye feels weird after I fish, like there's an eyelash in it or something. Pretty weird, and it's only after I fish or when I'm around a lot of particulate matter. It also happens after JT farts. :D Maybe there's a connection. But seriously, anyone had any ill effects after using the stuff? Thanks, Knox

I've joke about how I hope Frogs Fanny doesn't cause cancer :? Wasn't very apealing while I was dipping to get it on my fingers  No real twitching here. I don't get to use as much as some of you all though

Just dries the crap outta my fingers, but that's a good thing...means I'm catching a boatload of fish on top :D Kinda like fishing for smallies...when yer thumb is all roughed up at the end of the day...means it was a good urn.

You're probably rubbing your eye, from time to time, with a finger that has Frogs Fanny residue on it. I'd suggest that you just pay more attention and not do that. It's sort of like in cooking, where you have to be careful to not touch your eyes after chopping onion or hot peppers....

You're lucky you only have a problem with one eye after JT fart's  I use the Loon dry shake with no side effects.

Knox,
I wikipedia-ed fummed silica and got this:
"Fumed silica is not listed as a carcinogen by OSHA, IARC, or NTP. Due to its fineness and thinness, fumed silica can easily become airborne, making it an inhalation risk, capable of causing irritation."

I notice it sure dries my fingers out after a days fishing using it and a little irritation if I get a whiff of it by accident.

I don't have an issue with it any more!!!!! . I quit using it because it irritates the hell out of me to be brushing the damn fly every 7 friggin seconds.

I switched to Snow shoe hare and problem solved

JT,
Have you tried the preen oil on the cdc flies? Seems I was behind the learning curve on that stuff being a part timer :) . I got a bottle last July to try and it has made fishing cdc flies a pleasure instead of a pain. I've been using the trout hunter stuff and Dad is using the fly magic brand. Either works wonders on dry flys IMO. We just use the frogs fanny to freshen it up now after a fish slimes things instead of after every drift or two.
