My good buddy, the 'Crawler, brought over his fly-tying accoutrements and showed me how to tie a fly. Since I'll be on crutches for a few more weeks, I really appreciate his tutelage. I do have a question, however: How do I attach the tippet to the fly? NightCrawler failed to mention that as he was instructing me on how to tie this "surefire trout catcher" fly. Okay, another question, how would you recommend fishing this fly?

I'm really proud of this 1st fly and look forward to tying others....

I see you skillfully kept on eye open on the bottom hook. Very thoughtful. I would suggest tie the tippet in there. But this gives you the opportunity to tie a dropper off of each hook bend as well, 3 for 1, can't beat that!

As far as how to fish it? I'll have to paraphrase a movie I once saw. You will have to elegantly cast that fly, keeping it just over the water, and forcing the fish to rise to it. 8-)

You are going to have to demonstrate that one for us at Lyin'n'tyin' next winter.

Off hand, though, I would say that you are going to have to invent a new knot to go with that new style fly.

you should double your catch since you can fish that fly going up and coming back downstream.

they might get you for it being non single hook.... that being said, I would tie the tippet in the middle of that mess, i mean creation

I don't think you should actually fish this fly since it is your 1st. Instead, frame it in a shadowbox display...way back in the shadows.
