I don't see us making it to Raleigh. I wish the Asheville show was a option for next year.

Brad- that would not be a bad idea But keep in mind that you would have the fall PFF (which was a week early this year), left behinds and Lying and Tying /Asheville Expo all with in a 5 week period. That could be a tough one. Jus sayin...

I'll go with the flow...whatever. It would be interesting to observe some of the pros ply their rod building skills with the hope that I can learn how to put a fly rod together. It would be fun to give the rod building a go some day....plastic of course...bamboo would be a stretch.
Maybe JT and I can start up a new line of sticks....Stoney Creek Custom Plastic Rods. We'll put JT in charge of customer complaints....his response to a complaint...."How big a boy are you"

High Point appears to a central location for most of us .

The Rod building show sounds good to me.

I like the flyfishing show in Raleigh better - it gives us a chance to actually see flytying materials and tools in person. I've built four rods but will probably not build another so I have no interest in the rod building show.

Besides, the end of February is dead center in tax season and I probably can't get that time off - I can easily slip out for a long weekend at the end of January.

I like the fly show in Raleigh or just L&T in Charlotte, not much on rod building.

I vote for L&T in Raleigh in conjunction with Fly Show - I will still need a hotel so that is not an issue.

We have a fly fishing clinic at the NCWRC Pechmann Center the weekend of the Rod Building Show which means I can't attend if L&T is moved to that date. No loss there - but several our volunteers are key to making the clinics happen. We took the dates of the Raleigh Fly Show into account when scheduling the clinic - Too late to change that now.

I personally have a problem with folks from Charlotte not being able to drive to Raleigh - it was never an issue for those of us who drove there for the past several years (Winter storm is understandable - but 2 hour drive not so understandable)

Location: Charlotte,
Bass Pro Shop in Concord has a beautiful well lighted classroom up stairs. We could pick a day and tie from 9 till 9. They would probably fix a dinner hot dog chips and drink for $3 -4 Just a thought
