I am guessing that the S.Holston has a lot of alevins from all the spawners. This year was a pretty good spawn. I started thinking that I bet a lot of these get eaten every spring, & right now would be the time to throw some.

My question is: have any of you tried an alevin fly? I've tied one years ago but never tried it...it's raining all day so maybe I'll crank some out & try them in a few days. Anybody else have experiences with this fly?

I used to make some using mainly hot glue for the body and egg sac. I can't say they were a smashing success but then I never really spent a great deal of time fishing them.
