Joe,

A buddy of mine is working in Sanford and he says the crappie are biting and some bass are thinking about spawning.
But he does not have any tackle with him, so it is hearsay from other people at the plant

Sorry about a 2nd hand report, but that is the best that I can do.

JT

Al doesn't post on here very much, but he goes up to Sharon Harris from time to time. You might try sending him a PM.

Crappie are in the shallows right now - most still have eggs so it is debatable if they have spawned or not. My guess is if you want some crappie for the freezer the next two weeks would be the time to go - after that they will back off and head for deeper water.

Bream not very hot yet but they will be bedding soon.

For the next week or two, here's the math:

2 - 4 ft. water + size 8 white wooly bugger = freezer full of crappie filets.
