In my own clumsy way, I plod down to Loch Geezer to catch a few bluegills with my 5wt hollow fiberglass rod. To insure that I'll catch only 'gills and no trash fish, I use a size 18 NBHPTFF*. Yeah, I caught some 'gills, but...well, the pics tell the story.

Then this happens...

Ruins my day.

Hate it.

I thought you were gonna tell us that the valuable #18 NBHPTFF fly got inhaled so deep inside that scrawny Bluegill that you lost the fly. But then as good stories go the suspense took a unexpected turn and you inserted that yearling bass photo. Nice surprise ending. Great writer's tool.

Good job. Keep trying. Remember: Big fly. Big fish. ;)

Sir, I'm not at the level of "kinkiness" wherein I "insert" a "yearling" bass....However, I'm sure a flyfisher of your esteem knows the difference betwixt a yearling bass and a well-bred 3-4 pounder that will lay a multitude of eggs; therefore, be assured that, after she was gently released, she comfortably swam back to the safe depths of Loch Geezer. But soon she will grace the shallows to lay her spawn. Benedictus custos ovis haec est futura.
