This may be a stupid question.....but is there any use for old fly lines?? My 7wt line has served its time for nearly three years....its dirty and nicked all to pieces....I just hate to give it up cause its got good mojo on it....but its time...can't put it off any longer.....so....is there any reasonable good use for old fly lines?? Teachertec...can you make weedeater line out of it??

It can be used for tying net bags onto the net frame. Use it as a croakie to hang your sunglasses. Use it to tie stuff to your vest like tippet spools. That's what I've seen related to fishing.

Other uses include tying garden plants to stakes like tomatoe plants, tying up bundles of newpapers, firewood, etc. Any use that we can use twine for.

Tom, you could use it to tie a really neat raccoon tail to the radio antenna on your big rig. :D

Would that be utilizing Sage rods also? Image

Tom, fly line scraps are also usful for showing how to tie knots without having the student squint to see.

Inch Worms
Faux Green Weenie
Dragon/damsel fly tails
Shaft for puff style crayfish pincers
Strike indicators (hollow out)
