As a bump and a reminder, don't forget about some flies. I have received a few boxes of flies Thanks to all. Big thanks to Herb who sent a box full.
The fly drive is a small thing that produces huge benefits for the participants of these programs.

Thank you to the guys who have been sending in Flies.

A couple of folks went well above and beyond the call. There is still a couple of weeks left for you procrastinators.

Thanks again to all who pitched in to help.

Well thanks to you guys, and some members of the CFFC We will once again fill the fly boxes of several Dozen Rivercourse , Casting for recovery and Healing Waters participants. There is still a little time to get yours in for any last minute stragglers as I will not be getting them distributed for a week or two yet.

I met an interesting guy this past weekend, a new member of the CFFC. He is a wounded Vietnam Veteran, he has MS, and he just recently beat Cancer. We had an outing at Wilson Creek this past weekend and Scott attended. He is new to fly fishing. He asked ( more like demanded) right up front, that I not hold anyone up waiting for him as I was going to do a brief 30 minute on stream FYI for the new guys. As I was finishing up after close to 45 minutes , Scott had made it to the creek with his walker.

I helped him get set up, planted his seat in the water a few feet from shore, and proceeded to run through the basics again just for him. The biggest challenge was me trying show someone how to duck and chuck cast from a seated position. He had a small plastic box of flies that had 8 or 10 flies, all different. It's all he had. He picked one that he tied, a black woolly bugger, tied it on and we fished.

Long story short- The man worked physically hard, unbelievably hard to get to that creek and then back to his vehicle. We take for granted how easy it is for us to climb out and walk 30 yards back to our car.
He caught 1 fish, and was still talking about how incredible it was 4 days later at the CFFC meeting last night, and he is ready to do it again. His spirit and determination, reminded me a lot of our friend Olyn.

He's getting a small box of ya'lls flies, in a real fly box. It will give him some new patterns to try, and to tie and he will catch some fish on these flies.

And it will make his day.

And that my friends is what this is all about.

Thanks again to all those who donated.
DD
