Fly Fishing Museaum of the Southern Appalachians is hosting the first Smoky Mountains Hook & Hackle event, a fly tyer’s weekend.

The inaugural event will be conducted on November 4-5, 2016 at the Birdtown Complex located at 1212 Birdtown Road, east of Bryson City. The weekend event will be held in Bryson City among attending museum supporters, visiting anglers, visiting fly tyers, and visiting families. Kids and other family members that may not fly fish are most welcome to attend and see how flies are tied! Fly anglers from across the southeast will enjoy sitting with the various, multi-talented fly tyers that will conduct demonstration sessions, tell how they tie their specific flies and answer fly tying and fly fishing questions.

Admission is FREE or maybe you will consider a donation to the MUSEUM!

I don't understand ... Are you saying there's no good fishing in the Cherokee/Bryson City area?

We had a good show, even though the attendance was a little on the light side. Right now, there are plans to do it again next year, but there are a lot of details to work out.

Come on, Ralph, you know there's fish that big in the Tuck, Raven's Fork and even the Nantahala. And if you are willing to fish in TN, Little River has browns that rival those in the SoHo. Don't be such a SoHo snob.

Life's too short to fish just one stream!

Paul,

When I see pics of 30 inch plus fish, I will consider the extra time to get to those rivers to fish. Right now there are two rivers in east Tennessee that have fish that size in them, and it only takes me 2 hours to get there.

How is using my limited time to fish being a snob?

Thanks for your time,

Ralph ;) :D
