Ray Charles works like a charm on the Bighorn and a breeze to tie.

I'm serious guys....I know about the Ray Charles (thanks Smokey) which has been working pretty well lately and Ralph's crack fly. I've played around with the humpback and other standard scuds....still...there has to be a silver bullet fly in terms of size, weight/no weight, dubbing color, type of ribbing, color of head...whatever.....that I don't know about.

I've tied up some smallish scuds (18's) using natural colored kangaroo hair which is AWESOME. For the backing I used a tan colored scud backing with a very small diameter copper wire for ribbing. The 'roo hair has a pretty good buggy appearance once you work it with a small piece of velcro, dentist drill, or needle. I've not fished them alot, but when I have they've worked.
