Do any of you all have any first hand experience making wing burners? Found a few things on the Internet not a lot of details. Just wondering if this is something worth while to pursue?

Brad....I'm not real fond of wing burners.....I do however use RiverRoads Creations cutters a lot. 8-)

I'm really fond of the cutters myself. Bought a few and made a few. Great stuff for sure. I just got the metal shapes to burn wings on my mind. Working with a synthetic material that would be better with a singed edge.

Found some thin shim stock leftover from another project. May try that stuff and a Dremel Tool.

Burned wings had their day. They aren't much easier to mount than hackle tip wings, but the shape is more true to life. The wings are more "singed" than "burned". You use spade hackles, and you need to line up the shaft correctly inside the burners. I've looked at them long and hard myself....

I think those burners were a prize I donated for one of the contests on Harvey's board. They do make realistic profiles, but the fish don't like 'em any more than regular hen hackle wings. Not worth the time, in my opinion, but they do make your flies prettier.
