Got some 12/0 H&H Euro thread under the tree this year (6 colors) and thought I'd let y'all know this is some pretty good stuff. I would compare it to what Tom was able to get in the benecchi thread order a couple of years ago. This Euro thread is strong for 12/0 and works great for small flies and midges. I've tied up some midges and small soft hackles (22's) and really like how you can make a small, clean head when tying off. I'll be bringing it to L&T if you want to check it out.

Rick,

Check out Hook and Hackle -- it's $2 per spool and each spool is 100 yards.

Way to go Santa!!!
I love that your Santa peruses H&H web sites and catalogues.
Will your Santa teach my Santa?

Think those new 22 midges will be effective during sluicing periods?

Merry Christmas to you and you family GQ!

I love it that my wife peruses the H&H catalog. Indeed, I got a good 'urn. Midges in the sluice ...... you know, I was faintly hoping the sluicing meant they were gonna' turn off the generation and let the water trickle out at 340 cfs. I suspected the 340 cfs was going to be on top of the 3000cfs that's generated. I've never seen the generation schedule like this before. One day ..........

Norm, I'm not sure who the manufacturer is, but the thread is imported from Germany.

I had to order some rodbuilding stuff from H&H so I added some of the 12/0 to the order. The diameter is the same as the Benecchi 12/0 and I will say that I am impressed with this stuff. With the Benecchi at $5 and this at $2 makes it attractive and so far it seems to be working well.
Thanks for the heads up Greg.

Gary,

Does the H & H thread flatten out the the Bennecchi?

Thanks,

Ralph :D

Gary,

Ralph:
It flattens out the same as the Benecchi and the strength seems to be comparable with both. The one thing that made me raise an eyebrow when I got the H&H was the spool they are on makes it look like your spool is almost empty as compared to the normal. Made me look at the specs and found that it has 100 yards and Benecchi had 100 meters so you do get about 9 yards less on the H&H.
Will see how it works after tying a bunch of flies.

GJ
