Here's a version of a Red Quill that I've been fooling around with:

Image

Hook: Dry Fly #16
Thread: Uni Rusty 8/0
Tail: Dun Fibbetts
Body: Rusty Turkey Biot
Thorax: Rusty Superfine
Parachute: 2 CDC Feathers
Hackle: Barred Dun

Enjoy,
Timbros.

now thats why fish spend about 75% (depending on who is writing)of their feeding time down below on nymphs. They dont want to see such foolishness floating down the river.Send all that you have tyed and those you are planning on tying to me so that our rivers will be void of such ...................   damn my finger is tired and I cant believe I said that.If my corks looked that good I would fish on top too.Be safe

PeeWee,

I fish below the surface more often than not myself, but I like to tie the dries because I think it's more fun!

Take Care,
Timbros.
