We picked up a cheap portable tying light at A C Moore today in Asheville. Using an online coupon for 40 percent off we got the light for $30.00. It is similar to this one but $50 cheaper.
http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/189-3690361-1857026?asin=B001DEI66C&AFID=msncashback_df&LNM=|B001DEI66C&CPNG=home%20decor&ci_src=18492716&ci_sku=B001DEI66C&ref=tgt_adv_XSB10001

The coupon is good through tomorrow. If you are going to be out and about Sat. and need a light, this is a good deal. To get the coupon go to

http://www.acmoore.com/e-acm.StoreLocator.aspx

Just type in your zip and it'll take you to the printable coupon. (click on coupon under store address, etc.)

The one Melanie mentioned is compact and portable. I like that one for a desk dedicated to tying :)

When you come to L&T, you'll find that several of us already have them. I got the Daylight brand several years ago, with the AC Moore coupon, of course.

You'll hate me for this. I walked into the office of the last company I worked for and asked a simple question.

"Do you ever use that light up there?"
"No, why?"
"That would be perfect for drawing and tying flies with."
"Oh, OK. Take it."

It's the same light in black. :D

AC Moore coupons are great though!
