If any of you have time, come to the next Carolina Fly Fishing Club meeting (Tuesday, Sept. 13) where fellow club member Martin Bawden of the Flymen Fishing Company will be our featured speaker and guest tyer. http://flymenfishingcompany.com/

Martin and company won the Dealers Choice award in 2010 at the International Fly Tying Symposium for the best new fly tying material, Fish-Skulls.
This year they won two awards at the International Fly Tackle Dealers show. Their Fish-Skull Sculpin Helmet won the best new tying material award and their Fish-Skull Crafty Deceiver won the Best Fly Pattern - Saltwater award.
Martin will show his new products plus some not mentioned here (you listening Josh?) as well as show us tips on tying with them.

The CFFC meets at: REI, Northlake Mall, Wednesday October 19
It'll be good to see you there.

Sounds good. So long as the sun shines and the creeks don't rise, I will plan to be there.

Let me know if anyone wants to ride up together from the SouthPark or Cotwold areas of S. Charlotte.

Edit: Unfortunately, I can't make it now. Was looking forward to it.

False alarm...

Complications beyond our control made postponing Martins speaking engagement with the Carolina Fly Fishing Club until the October meeting.
Come on out and learn something and maybe take home a raffle prize or two.

Martin took a few minutes and gave us some samples and ideas for the fish skull and the sculpin helmets that he brought to the last meeting. I was impressed enough that I bought some and have been trying some patterns. I really like the way they look and how they fish.
Well worth your time if you can make the meeting.

Due to ongoing compications at our usual meeting place, the October CFFC meeting has been moved to REI at Northlake Mall (Exit 18 & I-77)
Also, this meeting date had to be changed from our usual second Tuesday of the month to Wednesday, October 19.
Please accept our apologies for these changes as we know full well that change is hard. Having meetings without a meeting room is even harder so please understand that these adjustments had to be made.
Come on over... for real this time!
The drive for you Charlotte folks should MUCH better.

Again, date and location change... REI, Northlake Mall, Wednesday October 19

Just in case this wasn't noticed... because of complications at our usual meeting location we had to switch dates and location this month to REI, Northlake Mall, Wednesday October 19

C'mon down... or up... or over or whatever. The door is open.
