Fished some foam extended body dragon flys on the New this summer and got some good strikes. Problem was that they tore apart to easy. Tried to make up a woven one to see how they work.

You think that this will work?

Gary....I fished the pond friday and saw a dragonfly the same size as the one you sent me fluttering around on the water....I thought "I should have that fly tied on right now"....but I watched it for a while and nothing ever ate it. I was really hoping to get out on a river today but can't find any companions.....I may just stay in the pond and play around with some of them brim bugs today. :)

Boo,
No doubts it will work and it's a great looking fly. You ever try hackle for wings? I tie some using big grizzly salt water hackles tied as a collar then x wrap with a blue dub noodle to force out wings to the sides. Long story short, IMHO I think it just floats better (lighter) than synthetic wings. Dunno how you fellas fish them but I splat, twitch, pick it up and splat twitch 2-3" further down the bank on ponds.
