It struck me that my sulphur pattern could stand an upgrade the other day so I worked on it this eve. Maybe it can alter the percentage of strikes vs. refusals when fishing duns using a more accurate church window. 4 legs are easy but 6 could be done though I don't think they are needed. Looking forward to testing them.

Looks good :) I know a place to test them. How do they sit in the 'glass test'?

Passed. Leg kinking is wased effort though, they straightened after the bath. Bumped it around with my finger some and it held position.

Check the distortion though. I think this is what I was after.

They look good. Give them the real test and let us know what the fish think of them. Image

Worked up a 6 legged version on an inverted hook. Floats fine when dressed with froggs fanny. We'll see....

This was dropped into the cup but not sure how it will do cast. If it proves to ride too low I think I can just add the antron shuck for a cripple. Probably will go ahead and tie a few of those anyway.

You've seen my take on the subject. I always tie them with a shuck instead of fibets. I fish them mostly on high flow. Not sure if that make a difference.

The legs spanked the regular patterns last week but my testing time was limited due to liberal generation flows. No doubt they are worth the trouble for me to add them to my patterns. Had some problems with hook ups with the inverted hook style flies though. Have an idea to tweak the wing a little. Will be a while before I can fish them again.

Theron,
I think the action of added legs is more important than profile/silhouette. So do those legs move/wiggle? What are they made of? Yours look great. The legs on your bugs, I mean, not YOUR legs. :o
