Blake,
I've used them for about 3 years and don't have any real complaints. I only with the finish was more bronze than gold. That being said, I've caught plenty of fish on the SOHO using Togen's hooks. I think the smaller hooks tend to have a narrow gape. I've got some #20 nymph hooks that work just fine. The #22 scud hook seems to narrow to me. I also have some #20,22,and 24 emerger hooks that have worked just fine. I bought some emerger hooks 2 years ago and the gape was perfect. I re-ordered some last Winter and the #22 and #24 emerger hooks had a smaller gape. Don't know why, but they did. I've yet to have a hook break in the vise, or break on a hooked fish. Seems I got them at a very good price; I hit a 15% off sale and got 1000 hooks delivered for about $60. By the way, the larger hooks (18,16) have worked well.

Thanks Greg,

I'm thinking of getting some size 14 scud hooks for some steelhead flies....eggs, crystal meth, etc. It seems to me that the hook gape wouldn't be as critical on the larger hooks. At the price I think it's probably worth the gamble.

Thanks for the reinforcement.

Blake...I've bought a bunch of them....seem to be fine to me.....I've stopped going "cheap" on bass hooks and have been only buying TMC and Gamakatsu ....but for typical trout flies...I see nothing wrong with these (so far)

Will be glad when a few more of the midgets show up around here.I used to coach a midget basketball team so it would be like coming home.We had a power forward that was always getting charged with palming the ball because when he dribbled-- the ball was above his shoulders.OOPS! Sorry forgot what we were talking about.Be safe
