Thanks for all the help,

Theron, I also picked up a couple of the California quail off of ebay....my feathers are a dark grey but I'm going to give them a try.

Thanks Bob......I recall you posting the hackle shortening technique but I didn't remember how you did it. I'll definitely give it a try tonight. The pictures are really what I needed. One more question.....Am I supposed to use the belly feathers, tail feathers, wing feathers or leg feathers :roll: :roll: .
